  4. Banelager says:

@YyJoBb Get two ropes, bind them to your feet and to a car, make a friend drive away really fast while you hold on to a lamp post. Should work.

@TylerDurdenK7 And people who talk shit about other martial arts is because he/she has never went to that style’s dojo and tried it out for themselves. A simple wrist twist will not throw a person that stands still only make the person kneel or go down to the ground to alleviate the pain in the wrist, but if said person is moving sufficiently fast in any direction and then loses balance, then even a small wrist twist or a light push is enough to make even the largest man fall, simple physics.

Aikido always reminds me of tai chi principles (ebb and flow, give and take, using your opponent’s momentum against them) applied to judo practice (throws, trips, and submissions). Is that a fair pronouncement?

    brainless martial arts

  8. TylerDurdenK7 says:

People who say Aikido work In a real fight Is people who have no combat experience what so ever. In reality a simple twist on the wrist won’t throw a guy that Is bigger than 110 pounds around. I respect real martial artist’s and not this. If you are offended by this then It Is time you face the truth or prove otherwise.

  23. ryanbrown321 says:

i beleive you could beat an opponent without ever touching them, if you move and are able to dodge every attack thrown at you your opponent will eventually tire and will not even be able to lift his/her arms and im sure they will give because their efforts are futile and they would be completely demorolized. You can beat someone mentally before you can physically. i hope this makes sense because i am in no way an expert in anything just giving my opinion

  24. sticmatic says:

don’t make the second step before the 1st – once one has MASTERED his art, he can drop any concept of it… before that, you have to use techniques and you HAVE TO fight …
you can only let go what you really have achieved. no philosophy in here – it’s practical – but you can’t judge what you haven’t tried, that’s what fucks me up with some comments… and not only me 4 sure

  25. sticmatic says:

yeah, guess you got it… it’s about awareness of the whole situation, including your “opponents” impulses and their direction, his body tonus (meaning the tension createt by the mind)
the soft and weak may overcome the hard, victory is generated by holding yourself back. this puts the meaning of power in a whole new context..
ueshiba said you ought to make room for your opponent in your heart by non-violent behavior and non-fighting, non-resisting… in the end, it’s indeed about an empty mind
