True Masters Can Kick Even Street Fighter’s Asses. They don’t just know how to counter certain attacks only met in their concrete martial art. They really know how to wipe the floor with you. Plus I have seen people pulling trees out of the ground with their roots using aikido techniques. And that’s not a simple feat.
Martial Arts nowadays aren’t meant to teach you how to defend yourself or how to kick somebody’s ass. They May help you in that matter, but if you really want to go beat the shit out of a group of people, you will Most Certainly not spend your life training Martial Arts. There are exceptions ofcourse but for the majority of people – especially the ones in modern day society- martial arts are meant to teach them how to live a better life. However those people ain’t meant to be Real Masters.
@volikoto In Aikido they will use words that sound odd like “energy” (and then flip someone on their butt). It’s all really just controlling their balance and momentum. If you are good, and very fast, you start to understand where their limbs and body will go if you move your limbs and body just so. It’s amazing stuff, but it takes a lifetime. It is, in every sense of the phrase, a way of life.
Right on mitchrapp225 !! I’ve been training in Judo since 1982 and have yet to find the need to get into a fight since then ! Thank you for your comment !
@hcdub To be prepared for real life situations entails knowing more than just one art; striking and grappling. The disadvantage with mere striking arts, is that it may take years to perfect, and even that is no guarantee, whereas grappling, what you learn in your first day, you can apply it that same day if you are attacked. Striking does not work if one is not blinding speed quick, have a sense of timing / distance dynamics, and the ability to land with devastating impact.
@hcdub this does although as mitchrapp said train fighters know better i myself am a bouncer and i have a job to-do i am also a boxer and in real life aikido works ,however you need to find a style that works for you as most of us aikidoka and aikido practitioners have this art is made purely for selfdefence never to engage the first move but to harmonize you and you attacker to be at one..but in real life times change so you need to adapt as i have and if truly necessary use this art
@hcdub no it will not work . when your opponent has only basic boxing skills you will be in a bad situation. so dont trust what you see. this movements you can see are agreed.
@mitchrapp225 mate you hit nail on the head with that one big big time l know this dickhead who was my best friend 27 years he found out l was doing akido tells me l’m wasting my time l should be doing mma he’s been doing it for 10 years should have seen the look on his face when he hit the floor priceless dickhead takes his pistol out tapes a plastic bottel to the nozzel bang one round past my hear brused ego
Sorry but it’s only a demonstration. The guy who pretended to hit the professor was his student. No karate at all. You must see JKA Karate demonstration and than see if it’s for REAL.
