PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SUBSCRIBE! Literally translated as close combat or contact combat, Krav Maga is one of the most lethally effective hand-to-hand combat techniques in the world. It was developed by Imi Lichtenfeld, a Czech-born former heavyweight boxing champion trained in self-defense tactics by his father, a police officer. In 1940, facing Nazi persecution, Lichtenfeld was forced to emigrate to what was then Palestine (now Israel). After the formation of an Israeli state in 1948, he was asked to develop self-defense and hand-to-hand combat techniques for the elite units of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Over the next two decades, Lichtenfeld trained IDF fighters in what would become the Krav Maga system, a combat style featuring elements of boxing, judo, and jujitsu as well as stick- and knife-fighting techniques. After leaving the army, Lichtenfeld began teaching the system to civilians, and in 1978 he and some of his students founded the International Krav Maga Federation, a nonprofit organization aimed at promoting teaching of the fighting system in Israel and around the world. By the time Lichtenfeld died in 1998, Krav Magas popularity had spread among law enforcement and security officers, as well as civilians of all ages, both male and female, across Europe and the United States. Due to Israels near-constant state of conflict with its neighbors, Krav Maga has continually been tested and refined over the years through actual combat situations. In Krav Maga …

This is not the way Krav Maga teaches a gun disarm. This can be spotted easily by the gunman’s perpheral vision. Also, Krav would encourage you to go for a knee to the groin as you disarm and to follow it up with an elbow to the face.

@Traysmoov26 Well the better way to disarm a gun is to control the barrel and push it upward and into the attacker. That way, you have more leverage, control, and can use both hands to thrust the gun down and out of the attacker’s hands. Two hands or one hand, the attacker does not have enough leverage to keep the gun in his hands. If you do it how the video shows, you risk someone else around you getting shot and you can’t leverage your weight against the gun.

This is very close to good gun defense, much better then what is often represented as Krav Maga…you know the silly grab the gun and punch them in the face then try and take it away. This works because they are following good combat principals: Change the field of fire, 2 hands controling the weapon, maximum leverage points…if necessary move with the attacker (no tug a war) and do not strike unless you have excellent control of the weapon. This is a sound disarm. Simple and effective.

@TheQwaggs You don’t know anything, he pushed the gun away from him so it wouldn’t even get close to shoot him.

If he had 2 guns, a katana and thermonuclear warfare capability we would all be in trouble . Though I would like to ask what if he stikes with the other hand or rotates anticlockwise? Shouldn’t be there a move to distract or set him off balance? Don’t try this one against Kali.
